TSUTSUMITANI’s art world
Her art world is a beautiful mix of the Japanese calligraphy and painting.
It is somewhat like the Western calligraphy where they decorate letters, and her works are inspired
by the Japanese words.
Japanese letters, derived from China originate from the symbol and her inspiration comes from the very symbol of the word itself.
The Chinese letter “flower” does look like a blooming flower and the letter “wind” represents the blowing wind.
Her “Melodies” series is a collection of her inspirations and only the Japanese ink and paper can produce such a subtle beauty.
「文字という芸術に惹かれて」
私、堤谷梗華は、文字という芸術に惹かれてまいりました。岡山に生れ半世紀、文字と戯れ育ちました。気がつけば私は、文字という表現、表意、表音、そして漢字文化を人々に伝道する役割を認識し、たくさんの方々に感動を伝えることを喜びとして生きてまいりました。
お習字教室を通じて、老若男女問わず、筆と墨、和紙の美しさを通じて、文字と戯れるひとときを感じていただいてきました。進化するデジタル社会とはまったく異質ですが、日本語の持つ柔らかさ、多様性、そして、生涯にわたり愛していただける芸術を目指しております
座右の銘として『 一期一会 』、漱石の『風流の友に逢いたし』、私は、いつまでの心の表現を求めて、書家として芸術家として歩みたいと思うのです。

第二回個展『春光』を富山市の星の街ギャラリーにて、2010年3月19日、20日、21日と三日間開催いたします。
『ジャガー・ランドローバー・ジャパン、ディーラーカンファレンス』にて命名短歌実演しました。
